Mark Mazzetti is Washington investigative correspondent for The New York Times, a job he assumed after covering national security from The Times’s Washington bureau for more than a decade. He is the author of “The Way of the Knife: The CIA, a Secret Army, and a War at the Ends of the Earth,” which was published in 2013 and became a New York Times best seller. In 2009, he shared a Pulitzer Prize for reporting on the intensifying violence in Pakistan and Afghanistan and Washington’s response. Mr. Mazzetti is a three-time winner of the George Polk Award, most recently for his work on The Times’s team investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
